My last race is a little hard to write about. Suffice it to say, I'm not a big fan of the new double file restart imposed to keep things exciting. I qualified 8th and was moving up. After a restart about halfway into the 100 lap race, two cars up front spun and collected half the field including me. With the double file restart, it is so tight, there was no where to go and others behind me with no where to go. That may be okay for the budgets of Sprint Cup, but it's very difficult for us.
On to another topic I began wondering about… Turn back the hands of time and go back to just a few years before Jeff Gordon made it to NASCAR Sprint Cup. If someone knew they would get a healthy return when he began racing the upper NASCAR series plus get a lifetime benefit of affiliation with him, my bet is investors would have been standing in line to get on board.
Well friends, that is exactly where I am today…I am just a few years off and a couple series away. In a few years, I will be just as determined as I am today to continue my career path of racing. I will offer a nice return to a sponsor who can help me get to the next steps. And I will remember everyone and every sponsor who helps me get there. If you know of a potential company or person who may be interested in making a major investment with the potential of a large return, please let me know.
And yet another topic…Welcome back Carly (my sister) and 24 other WCCS students from their mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
